Embedding equality, diversity and inclusion in usability testing
Products and services are designed so that users can achieve their goals effectively, efficiently and satisfactorily. During the design process potential users are recruited to test the usability and inform the design. However, these tests are not usually conducted with a diverse demographic of users. This means that the design of many products and services is not inclusive of all potential users.
The aim of the EmbedEDI project is to embed equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) in usability testing through the development of an EDI usability community to discuss and advocate for more inclusive usability testing.
